CORONA UPDATE // 50,- EURO OFF / EACH PRINT OR WE DONATE IT FOR AN EMERGENCY CASE
I had originally set up a support edition since the project funding by VG Bildkunst wouldn’t cover all expenses that are part of such a project. Now this return is postponed to an unknown future and we are all in this NOW together.
For the ones who can and want to afford and search for new images on the wall to aesthetically light up home stay or find solace: I invite you to have a look to the updated print sale section with more than the Louisiana edition. Or reach out if one motif seen elsewhere is in your mind. As a gesture towards the actual I offer 50,- Euros off each print or propose that we donate these 50,- together to one of the many cases of emergency. I could propose an initiative or you come up with one. We certainly have to reconsider and reevaluate what is needed and essential to us. I believe in reciprocity and if our reflections include thoughts about where to invest as in small bookstores, that offer mailing, instead of Amazon e.g. there is hope that we can support each other one way or another during that time to pay rent. First of all I wish health and healing for you and your loved ones. And eventually the reflection how our state of health and environment mirrors the state of health of the systems and how we can be part of a much needed change.

A reference to Joseph Beuys is undeniable but it was the process of the research and work as a comissioned artist for the first Biennale of Photography in Porto that I wanted to expand the limits of the frame of a photograph within an art event that speaks about ecological emergencies. Having planted a tree in 2017 in Portugal myself one thought led to another and through the network of friends and cultural managers in the north of Portugal I found an organization and mutual values to collaborate with. I visited Paulo and Jorge from Projeto Cabeço Santo in April in the enchanting forest of a restoration area that started many years ago as also wretched patches that show the signs of recent forest fires or terraced slopes for eucalyptus plantations for industrial purposes - creating a regulated and articficial landscape. These are areas that will be reforested with the delicate monitoring of diversity and reduction of the threatening vast patches of Eucalyptus monocultures that play fatal roles in the forest fires (though I love that tree!)
